... were invited to present the Best Picture award at the 2017 (89th) Oscars to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bonnie & Clyde, in which they starred together. Beatty had done the honours twice before, but Dunaway was making her debut.
Bonnie & Clyde was nominated for Best Picture in 1968, but lost out to In the Heat of the Night. The other nominees were Doctor Dolittle, The Graduate, and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.
